In many cultures throughout the world, traditional sexualities and alternative sexual identities are disappearing or transforming as a result of the diffusion of modern western sexual identity constructions and the emergence of global gay and lesbian subcultures modeled on North American and European cultural models. It can be argued that a queer globalization has taken place.

The conference “Competing Diversities” seeks to examine issues related to the interaction and confrontation between traditional sexualities and western sexual identity constructions across a wide range of perspectives, with the participation of specialists as well as the general public.

This is the first conference with such a focus in Mexico and the conference forms part of the Diversity and Dialogue conference circle organized by Enkidu Magazine in Mexico City in cooperation with ADETEA, the Association for Anthropology Students at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico in Toluca.

The sponsorship categories available for Competing Diversities are Platinum, Gold and Silver:

+ Platinum Sponsors

This category provides the highest level of exposure and visibility before, during and after the event.

• Website Sponsorship: Platinum sponsors will have premium exposure on each individual page on the Conference website, with a corporate logo hyperlinked to your website, and promotional representation on the Sponsor page of the Conference site. Additional benefits include the placement of a downloadable promotional flyer on the Sponsor page of the website and its distribution via our publications.

• Promotional flyer in Press Package: Platinum sponsors also have the opportunity to include a presentation of their company or organisation in the form of a promotional flyer which will be included in the press package for the event that we will distribute during the press conference for Competing Diversities that takes place a couple of days before the event. A pdf-version of this flyer will also be available for download at the press information page.

• Conference Program branding and advertisement: All delegates receive a printed Conference program, which will have your organisation name and logo printed on the front cover together with a full-page advertisement displayed in the program. 

• Conference Satchel branding and insert: As a platinum sponsor, your corporate name and logo will be printed on the conference satchel and a promotional flyer can be inserted in the conference satchel, which is distributed to all delegates.

• Conference banner: Corporate branding will also be included on the main Conference banner located at the Registration desk.

This level of sponsorship provides significant visibility before, during and after the event.

• Conference Program advertisement: All delegates receive a Conference handbook, which will have your organisation half-page advertisement displayed in the handbook.

• Conference Satchel Insert: A promotional flyer can be inserted in the conference satchel, which is distributed to all delegates.

This level of sponsorship provides enhanced visibility before, during and after the event.

• Conference Program Advertisement: All delegates receive a Conference program, which will have your organisation quarter-page advertisement displayed in the program.

• Free Exhibitor space: will be provided for your organisation situated in a prime location in the conference location where you also will have the opportunity to have an information stand if desired.

Our Goal and Objectives with Competing Diversities:

 “Competing Diversities” is a conference that has 3 main objectives:

1)    Stimulate innovative research within social sciences and the humanities as well as dialogue and exchange between researchers, activists, artists and organizations. Research findings presented at the conference as well as other conference materials are made available to a broader audience through publication of a book both in English and in Spanish as well as its publication on the Enkidu web site.

2)   Make this information available to a larger audience throughout the Spanish Speaking World through distribution in Enkidu Magazine as well as through our outreach activities, in Mexico City, as well as through our sister organizations in Mexico, United States, Puerto Rico, Ecuador and Canada.

3)    Encourage and stimulate contact and dialogue between the general public and scientist and specialists. Enkidu Academic events are open to the general public who is being encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions.
