Our lives are in your hands - Nuestra
vidas están en sus manos
This is a life or death message. According to officials from Puerto
Rico's Department of Health, responsibility which falls upon the Secretary
of Health Rosa Pérez Perdomo, (rperez@salud.gov.pr),
and Dr. Greduvel Durán, Sub-Secretary of Family Affairs and the Central
Office of STD's and HIV/AIDS Bureau, (gduran@salud.com.pr),
thirty six (36) persons, (we believe that this number may be higher), are
under a waiting list to receive HAART treatment. Now we are thirty seven
(37) who are not taking the medicines because as an HIV/AIDS activist I
have not taken my anti-retroviral cocktail sin last Monday, May 14, 2007,
in solidarity with all the patients who have not been supplied medicines.
We need help: to put pressure so that this situation is resolved ASAP
so that we can survive without having to go through more complicated
situations. We make this cry in support for all patients that are under a
waiting list in the United States of America and its territories too.
