| About Los Martes de Enkidu: The Think Tank of the
Diversities in Mexico City: A permanent Forum for Dialogue and Reflexion
Los Martes de Enkidu (The Tuesdays of Enkidu) is an independent think tank with a weekly forum in Mexico City targeting the
Diversities. We bring together the different sectors of our communities: Representatives from Academia, Media, the Culture Sector, groups and
organisations are offered a permanent forum for exchange, dialogue and
development of ideas. Our target group, in particular, are opinion leaders and
decision makers of the community, that get together to an open dialogue in an activity free of charge and open to the public.
The main objective of Los Martes de Enkidu is to enable the
participants to navigate and operate in an increasingly more fragmented
and complex global society and meet tomorrow's challenges. Our weekly
activity identifies and conceptualizes the most important cultural and
social trends and developments in society, and the participants are given an opportunity to
be a part of a constant dialogue and exchange in an independent form, on
equal terms, in something we call "El Poder the Saber" -
The Power
of Knowing-.
The conclusions of the weekly sessions are being transformed into
strategic knowledge, empowering our participants and the readers of Los
Martes site with useful tools to
continue their work for a more enlightened and including world. Los Martes
de Enkidu gives groups and organisations the chance to participate in a
new global collaborative society and these conclusions are published in Enkidu Magazine, and through our constant and
extensive coverage of the topics discussed in Los Martes de Enkidu, we challenge our
readers to reflect and to think differently as well as to supply them with
the strategic tools they need to navigate a society that is continuously
changing and to understand the world in which we are all living.
On the local level, Los Martes de Enkidu in many ways mirrors the work
conducted by The International Society for Cultural History and Cultural
Studies (CHiCS) on the global level. CHiCS is an international academic
network initiative by Enkidu Magazine, which offers an exciting and
groundbreaking interdisciplinary setting for presenting and debating new
research in Cultural History and Cultural Studies. The objectives of
the organization are to consider how the social sciences and humanities
can contribute to the a more including and enlightened society, to develop
an extensive body of scientific literature in the relevant fields, and to
build an international network of scientists, professionals, students and
activists working with these issues from many different perspectives.
Our weekly forum, Los Martes de Enkidu and its derived
publications provide an equally unique perspective on the society as experienced
from a Diversities Perspective, and gives insight into the long term
consequences of current social trends and developments both for specific organisations
and sectors as well as society in general.
Our specific ethical principles make Los Martes de Enkidu an activity
independent of organizational, political, economical and institutional
interests: We give voice to the Diversities and provide a forum for
dialogue and expression of opinions, in which everyone is welcome.
