Do you want to work alongside a team of non-profit professionals who are dedicated to using the Internet as a medium to promote global understanding, human rights and social justice by sharing knowledge and making high quality information available to all?

If you do, then an internship in Enkidu Magazine Web Edition might be the right place for you to start your career.

We are continuously welcoming new applications from students and others eager to learn how a web-based non-profit organisation promotes social change through outreach and the promotion and distribution of knowledge. Interns are assigned specific tracks depending on their interests and skills.

The news magazine interns will work directly with the editorial staff of Enkidu Magazine and assist them in their daily tasks and participate in all the processes to generate news stories for http://www.enkidumagazine.com. We are looking for young journalists with exceptional reporting, writing, and editing skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural ad multilingual environment. Interns work closely with editors and have ample opportunities to write. Prior news reporting and writing required. Submit resume, cover letter, and three writing samples.

Interns will also assist with various support projects such as editorial gathering, research, proofing and other related editorial and administrative tasks, editorial and photograph gathering and research, proofing, web site production and maintenance, and other related editorial and administrative tasks. Some writing and editing assignments may be possible, depending upon qualifications, and knowledge in Spanish, but cannot be guaranteed. The ability to write an excellent Castilian will definitely be a plus. However, if you write an article in English that is selected for publication, your article will be translated by our team. Interns are invited to take a place at daily editorial planning meetings and will work along with editors, graphic artists and other staff as issues are created from day to day. 

You will receive practical experience in critical reading and analysis, research, fact checking, and the general workings of an international news agency. Each intern works closely with an editor on one section of the magazine, and is encouraged to read widely, generate ideas and approach problems creatively

The range of responsibilities and level of challenge depend largely on initiative and self-motivation. Interns are always welcome to suggest ideas, for instance, and to try to generate material for any section of the magazine.

Preferred editorial intern candidates will have a related field of study and/or experience and a career interest in journalism or publishing with a social commitment in a dynamic multicultural and multilingual team. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills are required. Must be able to handle multiple projects and provide efficient and effective administrative support.
