Experience the Magic of Mexico City's Nightlife with Pablo

Pablo Herrera, Enkidu Magazine's Outreach and Event Manager has developed a number of exiting evening explorations of different aspects of Mexico City's nightlife. These tours have been created to introduce visitors to the LGBT scene of the City and its complex diversity. 

Mexico City may seem overwhelmingly huge and confusing at the first sight, a total chaos... But this is also a city of world-class art, music, theater, film, literature, food and drink and it houses some of the most spectacular museums in the world. The delights of the city, however, are not always easy to discover for a first time visitor on his or her own and the distances can be really huge...

The evening explorations with Pablo will help you find your way through the city, avoid annoyances, and you will get access to a unique insider perspective on the local LGBT scene and the city. Pablo and his team of guides will be pleased to advise on where to go, where not to go, where to eat, where to dance, what to do, what not to do, what's in...

Some of the Evening Tours are structured as general orientations to the LGBT scene of Mexico City. Pablo and his team of guides will take you on a walk through Zona Rosa and introduce you to the most important gay infrastructure, tell you a bit about gay history and gay culture in Mexico, perhaps give some Mexican cruising tips, and take you to a couple of places to give you an idea about what the city has to offer. Other tours will be structured as thematic exploration of specific aspects of the LGBT scene like for instance explorations of the Lesbian Subcultures of Mexico, Diversity Theater or our traditional "Leather and Fetish Odyssey" which is an exploration of the leather and fetish scene of Mexico City.

The tours are intended to give visitors to Mexico City an idea about where to go and what to do during the rest of the stay and it will be a welcome opportunity to get to know other visitors from all over the world as well as locals and create international contacts in an informal setting. Each tour is individualized and different and the places the guide will include depends on the interests of the participants and their wishes. Also the “standard tours” have been tailored for individual travelers and small groups (max. 5 guests per guide), which allows for flexibility and improvisation regarding schedules and itineraries. Therefore each tour will to some extent be an unique experience for the guide, as well as for the guests. Each group will also be unique. 

This spring, we have 3 categories of Gay Evening Tours in our program:

1. Standard Evening Tour (ca. 2 hours): General Orientation about the gay scene in Mexico City. Includes: entrance and a beer in 2 places: USD 50.-

2. Grand Evening tour (ca. 3-4 hours): General Orientation about the gay scene in Mexico City. Includes: entrance and a beer in 3 places: USD 75

3. Delicatessen Evening Tour as above, but with additional special event - for instance: drag shows, parties in private clubs, theater, cinema or concerts etc.: USD 100

The entrance and one beverage is included in the two places you visit with your guide. If you chose a program including visits to bath houses or sex clubs, the cover fee as well as one beverage will be included also here.

These Evening Tours can be taken at any day throughout the year, also on short notice. It is recommended to book a guide 48 hours in advance, but it is always possible to write an ask if you can still join. 

The maximum number of participants per guide are 5. 

Participants in our other programs for visitors to Mexico City, for instance our gay friendly Spanish courses or gay history courses often book this tour on the first evening of their stay to make it easier to get around by themselves during the rest of the stay. Visitors who have booked a day tour, an Enkidu Exploration or Enkidu Adventure with an Enkidu Personal Guide also like to book this evening tour to have an opportunity to have a beer with the guide and get to know each other in advance.

PERSONALIZED EVENING TOURS

If you would like a personalized evening program you may use this form instead. Depending on your interests and tastes, a personalized evening exploration of Mexico City with an Enkidu Personal Guide for individuals or small groups can also include visits to for instance theatres, shows, concerts in local bars, poetry evenings, jam sessions, drag shows, bull fights, football matches or anything else. When designing your program, the guide will always look for possibilities to include special events or´ activities that you might find interesting to experience during your visit to Mexico City.

Each guide has a deep general knowledge about Mexico City, its past and present, but will in addition have special competence in a particular field which can be anything from shopping, football or archaeology to opera. If you have any special requirements for the guide, are there for instance special sights, museums or areas of the city you would like to explore or topics you would like to know more about, we will attempt to find a guide for you with corresponding interests or competence. PLEASE NOTE: A standard evening tour for $ 50 does not cover pick up a the hotel nor drop off unless you live in a hotel in Zona Rosa. In that case, the guide may pass by and pick you up.

	The Leather and Fetish Odyssey...
	The Leather and Fetish Odyssey is usually an exploration of the leather and fetish scene of Mexico City. These programs are highly varied and can include for instance visits to several interesting and exiting places, like Tom's leather Bar with action and cruising. We always try to include additional activities, like visits to rave parties, private orgies, or special events of all kinds within the leather and fetish community.
