International Academy for
the Study of Aids in Culture
Student Admission to the programs at the
International Academy for the Study of Aids in Culture
Please choose the courses that you would
like to study from the course menue here and fill in the individual
registration form for each course that you would like to sign up
for. Qualified applicants will be notified by e-mail when their form
has been received. We receive a large number of registration forms
throughout the year, and we ask you to please allow time for processing
your registration.
If you are an advanced student and would like to
join the AIDSinCULTURE.org Global Network, please fill in and submit the
form here. You can also use this form to register your research
projects. If you would like to register several research projects,
please fill in one form for each project.
The International Education Office at the
Academy regrets that we are unable to inform you if you are not found
eligible to apply due to limited resources. If you do not receive the
notification of admission to the program in reasonable time (4 - 6 weeks),
it means that you are unfortunately not qualified.
If you are a qualified applicant, a
notification of admission to the program will be sent to the e-mail
address given in the application form. Please follow the guidelines for
completing the application form enclosed and return the form and all
documents requested before the deadline for registration for the courses
you have signed up for.
The following documents must be included
with the application:
Official certified copy of passport
Official credentials in original language
with a certified translation to English (diplomas and transcripts or
relevés de notes). This should preferably be sent directly to us from the
issuing institution.
English language proficiency test score
(original or certified copy)
A one-page statement of purpose, in English
or Spanish, giving reasons for applying to the International Academy for
the Study of Aids in Culture, background, activities, course work in
progress, and educational objectives.
Recent photograph
Please note that applicants for the
programmes must have a completed undergraduate degree or completed an
equivalent to a Bachelor's degree at their home university before
applying. We do not give conditional offers and students who are still in
the process of completing their degree cannot apply before successfully
finishing their studies.
Supporting documentation
Documents from applicants are filed under
the family (last) name as indicated on the application form. Documents
which only give part of, or only the initial of, the family (last) name or
the given (first) name, may be difficult to match files. It is therefore
essential that all records and correspondence use the same family (last)
name and spelling as in the applicant's passport, and that the applicant
state his or her date of birth.
Decision and notification
Due to the large number of applications the
International Education Officedoes not have the capacity to inform
applicants of unsatisfactory documentation.
After the closing date for applications for
the course you have signed up for the applicant will recive a letter
acknowledging the receipt of the application and assigning the applicant a
temporary Academy reference number.
Admission to Degree Studies is very
competitive. Please note that an academic record that satisfies the basic
entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.
Offers of admission for the Autumn Semester
will be made to qualified applicants in May. Offers of admission for the
Spring Semester will be made to qualified applicants in November.
