Thanks
to caring and engaged individuals like you, Enkidu
Magazine keeps developing as a major source of free and accessible
information in Spanish for the global diversity. We are now one of the
most widely read online publications in Latin America, and reach between
75.000 and 90.000 individuals throughout the Spanish Speaking World (and
increasingly beyond) every month. Our educational, cultural and social
programs in Mexico City are also expanding rapidly from week to week. Many
individuals throughout the world benefit daily from our efforts to build
bridges and stimulate dialogues across cultural, social and linguistic
borders.
For
over three and a half years, Enkidu has been a non-profit initiative that
provides a complete news service in Spanish as well as outreach activities
for the local diversity and visitors to Mexico, language and culture
courses and, of course, our International Academic Conferences that each
time attract the attention of more and more people from all over the
spectrum of Academia, Activism, Public Institutions, organizations,
government agencies and private and public Initiatives from all over the
world.
Now,
Enkidu has a unique chance to obtain a permanent Enkidu Cultural Center in
Mexico City which can serve as framework for all our activities. The new
Cultural Center with its excellent location in the heart of the Diversity
area in Mexico City will also enable us to extend our services and provide
further activities for the community. Among the new activities that the
new cultural center will house we would in particular like to mention extension
of our social programs for Individuals living with HIV, and our "Panther
Club" for older Gay and Lesbians that sorely need a place to meet. A
part of the new Cultural Center will also serve as historical archives for
the Diversity Press in Mexico.
